THE FIRST is a film about Lejla Njemčević, the most successful cyclist from Bosnia and Herzegovina, a woman who rose from a country with no organized sports system to become one of the best in the world. The story follows Lejla as she enters the Cape Epic, the toughest mountain-biking race in the world. Amid dust, heat, and the exhausting rhythm of the stages, the eight-day race becomes more than a sporting challenge. It becomes a space that tests the mental strength and philosophy of victory that carries her to the top.
